In the merry old land of Oz, there are no happy endings. It makes these caps all the more bittersweet.

That's damn true.
And that's one of the many things that make OZ a masterpiece. ;)

Still, I wish they did have a happy ending (even if their personalities and baggage would not allow it).

I think we all wish they did, inside our hearts. But because that was the only true-to-life way it could end instead, I loved it even more.

These are beautiful and sexy. The scene with Beecher in the chair was one of my favorites from that horrible season.
I didn't think it was necessary to end the show with Keller's death. And I thought it out of character for Chris to give up so easily. And then kill himself? I couldn't see that.
They would never have had an easy time of it,and certainly couldn't have a fairytale ending with both of them in prison, but I thought it could have just ended with the question of whether Toby could forgive Chris being a possibilty.Or,that Chris would decide he'd not give up on the idea at least.
I have a problem with producers who seem to feel they have to do something over the top dramatic and "clever" to end a series.
So we get anthrax and Chris' death. Not to mention all the other stupid deaths that occured in that year.
And if Tom wanted to be realistic he should never have had the ghost and demon nonsense that made up so much of the season.
Sorry, I get aggravated when I think about it!

No, you got a good point on it.
But I think that having Chris' love for Toby evolved in something paranoid in the last season, something that toward the end is very far from "love" (even if Chris has always had a kinda twisted idea of love), his death was the only way possible to end the story.
The antrax, instead, is too extreme in my opinion too. Maybe the only one little stain in the whole series.

I didn't see Chris' love as paranoid. I think he was more reckless once he thought he was losing Toby, but otherwise I thought he acted the way he usually did (which I agree was a little twisted!)
I really didn't think it had to be as drastic as killing himself. I thought that was over the top,as was so much in the last season.

Love the caps! Which season are the caps from when Beecher is tied up in that chair?
